Yesterday, we learned of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Her Majesty was loved and admired by millions of people across the world. As Canada's longest-reigning Sovereign, she has been a constant presence in our lives for longer than many of us can remember. She leaves an incredible legacy of public service over 70 years. We mourn her passing, and our thoughts are with her family. May she Rest In Peace.
We will observe a national period of mourning over the next ten days. A national commemorative ceremony will be held at Christ Church Cathedral in Ottawa and more information will be available soon through the office of the Governor General.
